Join the Odyssey Mentoring Program on Thursday, March 25 to hear from alumni speaker Mark Ambrosino CC'90. Mark is the President of Sojourn Records, an independent record label he co-founded in 2007. In addition to his duties as President of the label, Mark also produces, records, performs on and mixes all of Sojourn’s releases. December 2020 marked Sojourn’s fifty-seventh release.

Mark also works as a independent drummer, producer, songwriter and film composer. He has performed and recorded with artists including Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Leonard Bernstein, Barbara Streisand, The Trans Siberian Orchestra, Michael McDonald, Dionne Warwick, Michael Bolton, BB King, Tito Puente, Olivia Newton John, Pink, Perry Farrell, Michael Brecker and The Count Basie Orchestra. As a composer, Mark has worked on films including Unzipped (starring Isaac Mizrahi, Naomi Campbell and Cindy Crawford), The Last Winter (starring Ron Perlman, James LeGros and Connie Britton), California Typewriter (starring Tom Hanks, Sam Shepard, John Mayer and David McCullough) and Depraved (starring David Call and Joshua Leonard). Mark has also written and produced music for television, with credits including CBS Sports ( The Final Four, The U.S. Open, PGA Golf, CBS Sports Desk, NFL Today), HBO (HBO Boxing, Oz), CBS (Hawaii Five-0), ABC (All My Children) and Showtime (Shameless). Mark’s recording studio, The Madhouse, has been home to countless independent and major label recordings, all of which Mark has played on, produced, recorded and mixed. Currently, Mark is producing and recording the music for In The Shade, a Broadway musical based on the life of American poet Robert Lowell. Mark’s own band, The Unclaimed Souls, will release their debut album in 2021.

In 1997, Mark founded Global Groove, a company which pioneered the use of ISDN lines in transmitting multitrack drum performances to recording studios around the world in real time, with no loss of audio quality. Global Groove was featured in both Mix Magazine and Modern Drummer, and many of the processes developed by Global Groove remain in use throughout the industry to this day.

Mark is a member of The Recording Academy and the Audio Engineering Society. He earned a BA in Economics from Columbia University.
